SLOW AND GENTLE YOGA
●YIN YOGA ●GENTLE & GENTLE/THERAPEUTIC YOGA ●RESTORATIVE YOGA
Slower pace, longer holds in postures, use of supports in restorative and yin yoga. No previous yoga experience required. In most cases these classes are suitable for those recovering from illness or injury or if you have low energy, are new to exercise or have a lower fitness level, range or motion or strength challenges.
Yin Yoga: Many forms of hatha yoga focus on the muscles, Yin Yoga teaches us how to access and exercise the connective tissues by holding the yoga postures for longer periods of time. This practice can be introspective and it can teach us to listen to the voices of our body. Highly complementary to active yoga practices and participants in sports of intensity.
Gentle & Gentle/Therapeutic Yoga: - ideal for those in their silver years or if you are recovering from illness or injury and have a lower energy or fitness level. Much focus is given to body awareness, range of motion, functional movement and relearning patterns in our body to attain more ease. These classes can teach us good alignment and gently build strength and flexibility from where our body is at 'right now'.
Restorative Yoga: A quiet practice where we learn to consciously relax. Postures are held for longer periods of time and we use supports and our breath to create space and ease in our body. Great class to release very tight muscles, promote good sleep and reduce stress.
